What steps should you take to become a Full Stack Developer

Education

An obvious starting point for what you may need is qualifications, and 86% of Full Stack Developers hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. However, only 55% consider a degree to be an essential factor when it comes to increasing earning potential, and even less (33%) consider that a degree is needed to work with AWS.

What AWS certifications do Full Stack Developers hold?

Answer %
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate 60%
AWS Certified Developer - Associate 60%
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner - Foundational 40%

There’s arguably no better route to training and upskilling than working towards AWS certification. And better yet, as official vendor-accredited certifications, they’re also an effective way of validating your knowledge and skill, whether that’s in the eyes of your current or prospective employer.

Under two-thirds (45%, down from 52% in our last survey) of Full Stack Developers are certified. Still, only 20% of those have undergone recertification to maintain their AWS Certified Status, yet 60% believe that certifications help candidates stand out in a competitive job market.
